I have this theory about what humans will do if we’re ever confronted by something truly bizarre, like an army of invading aliens, an ancient, vengeful god, or a mystery beyond our understanding.

We’ll do what we’ve always done.

We’ll handle it.

And afterward, we’ll sit down and have a cold beer. Or a hot cup of tea. Or whatever someone drinks when they’ve just saved humanity.
